In this work, we first revisit the sampling issues in current autoregressive (AR) image generation models and identify that image tokens, unlike text tokens, exhibit lower information density and non-uniform spatial distribution. Accordingly, we present an entropy-informed decoding strategy that facilitates higher autoregressive generation quality with faster synthesis speed. Specifically, the proposed method introduces two main innovations: 1) dynamic temperature control guided by spatial entropy of token distributions, enhancing the balance between content diversity, alignment accuracy, and structural coherence in both mask-based and scale-wise models, without extra computational overhead, and 2) entropy-aware acceptance rules in speculative decoding, achieving near-lossless generation at about 85% of the inference cost of conventional acceleration methods. Extensive experiments across multiple benchmarks using diverse AR image generation models demonstrate the effectiveness and generalizability of our approach in enhancing both generation quality and sampling speed.

Early detection of acute kidney injury (AKI) may provide a crucial window of opportunity to prevent further injury, which helps improve clinical outcomes. This study aimed to develop a deep interpretable network for continuously predicting the 24-hour AKI risk in real-time and evaluate its performance internally and externally in critically ill patients. A total of 21, 163 patients' electronic health records sourced from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) were first included in building the model. Two external validation populations included 3025 patients from the Philips eICU Research Institute and 2625 patients from Zhongda Hospital Southeast University. A total of 152 intelligently engineered predictors were extracted on an hourly basis. The prediction model referred to as DeepAKI was designed with the basic framework of squeeze-and-excitation networks with dilated causal convolution embedded. The integrated gradients method was utilized to explain the prediction model. When performed on the internal validation set (3175 [15 %] patients from BIDMC) and the two external validation sets, DeepAKI obtained the area under the curve of 0. 799 (95 % CI 0. 791–0. 806), 0. 763 (95 % CI 0. 755–0. 771) and 0. 676 (95 % CI 0. 668–0. 684) for continuousAKI prediction, respectively. For model interpretability, clinically relevant important variables contributing to the model prediction were informed, and individual explanations along the timeline were explored to show how AKI risk arose. The potential threats to generalisability in deep learning-based models when deployed across health systems in real-world settings were analyzed.

Point cloud semantic segmentation from projected views, such as range-view (RV) and bird's-eye-view (BEV), has been intensively investigated. Different views capture different information of point clouds and thus are complementary to each other. However, recent projection-based methods for point cloud semantic segmentation usually utilize a vanilla late fusion strategy for the predictions of different views, failing to explore the complementary information from a geometric perspective during the representation learning. In this paper, we introduce a geometric flow network (GFNet) to explore the geometric correspondence between different views in an align-before-fuse manner. Specifically, we devise a novel geometric flow module (GFM) to bidirectionally align and propagate the complementary information across different views according to geometric relationships under the end-to-end learning scheme. We perform extensive experiments on two widely used benchmark datasets, SemanticKITTI and nuScenes, to demonstrate the effectiveness of our GFNet for project-based point cloud semantic segmentation. Concretely, GFNet not only significantly boosts the performance of each individual view but also achieves state-of-the-art results over all existing projection-based models. Learning Basis Representation to Refine 3D Human Pose Estimations

Estimating 3D human poses from 2D joint positions is an illposed problem, and is further complicated by the fact that the estimated 2D joints usually have errors to which most of the 3D pose estimators are sensitive. In this work, we present an approach to refine inaccurate 3D pose estimations. The core idea of the approach is to learn a number of bases to obtain tight approximations of the low-dimensional pose manifold where a 3D pose is represented by a convex combination of the bases. The representation requires that globally the refined poses are close to the pose manifold thus avoiding generating illegitimate poses. Second, the designed bases also have the property to guarantee that the distances among the body joints of a pose are within reasonable ranges. Experiments on benchmark datasets show that our approach obtains more legitimate poses over the baselines. In particular, the limb lengths are closer to the ground truth.
