Reflections on Logics for Assertion and Denial.

The aim of this paper is to develop and extend a framework of pragmatic logic for assertions. The base system has been developed by Dalla Pozza and Garola [7]; here, we want to improve the analysis of the justification conditions of the act of assertion. Furthermore, we explore the possibility of a pragmatic logic of denial. We analyse the relationships between denial, negation, and assertion.

Some Remarks on Assertion and Proof.

In our introduction we make some remarks on the main topics of this issue: assertion and proof. We briefly describe how each of the papers in the present publication has contributed from either different or complementary perspectives to the logical reflection on assertion and proof, while also specifying the relation between them.
